Our good friends at [webuildmachines] have released ‘Prompt/Imagine’, a compilation of a number of slamming techno artists including Darkroom Bureau’s own COARSES. His rumble-laden track “Beneath a Great Chapel” brings us a newer, denser Coarses sound. Also paired on the compilation is LA’s very talented AXKAN whose hard, gridded track “Recursive” ties the mood together in total paranoia. ON AXKAN: No stranger to the world techno scene, Axkan is a talented producer based out of Los Angeles and head of the OMEN Recordings label. His most recent album was released by Adam X on Sonic Groove Records. His techno is highly influenced by Industrial and EBM alongside ethnic rhythms. His darker and noisy style of techno is a highly sought out sound and can be found on several labels (i.e. OMEN Recordings, Webuildmachines, Advanced (Black), Dirty Minds, The Cast Project, Reloading Records, SecreTechno, Rheostatus, From 0-1, GBB, Aerotek, EDR, Format Recordings, Switch Off, etc.)
ON COARSES: Coarses is a Clevelend techno artist mixing drone, dub, and acid elements to craft minimal but effectively throbbing 4×4 soundscapes. The metatext of Coarses’ work centers on matriarchy, pagan deities in the annals of classical antiquity and vanity as worship.
